Testimonials
People have the nicest things to say about the trainers and staff here at FIT. Come on in for a visit, we would love to earn your praise as well.
For Cathy Woodhouse:
“Upon my retirement in 2007, I begin biweekly physical training workouts with a trainer to stay active and in shape. After using a couple of trainers, I had the opportunity to work with Cathy Woodhouse. I currently work with Cathy and have been very impressed with her knowledge and attention to detail in formulating and conducting my training sessions to maximize the benefits of strength and flexibility training. By doing exercises Cathy’s way, I get so much more benefit from the exercise than I did in the past. I highly recommend her capabilities as my trainer. An important side benefit of membership at Foreside Fitness, is the opportunity to take Yoga sessions which I do two or three times a week. The combination of Cathy’s direction in strength training and Yoga are highly complementary to each other. I am in the best shape that I have been in over the last 15 years.
Thank you Cathy,”

Initially, I was very reluctant to work with a personal trainer, thinking it was self-indulgent and too expensive. But I had a friend who persuaded me to give it a try – and I’m completely grateful for her good advice. Through working with Cathy I’ve become stronger, more flexible and, in the process, have improved my balance as well. Thanks to Cathy’s very thorough knowledge of physical training, I’ve learned about how the body works and how to focus on specific muscle groups for a more affective work-out. It’s very satisfying to know that I’m being pro-active about my health and fitness. PLUS – it’s enough fun that I really look forward to our work-outs together. Who would have thought that would happen?

Personal Training began for me for 2 reasons:
1. A friend had been working with Cathy Woodhouse for a number of years andcontinued to talk about her experience with Cathy and how it had changed her body
and her ability to do things.
2. There is osteoporosis in my family history and I did not want to have to take drugs toprevent it if I could find a way to do something different. There is informationsuggesting that weight bearing exercise may help prevent osteoporosis. I was
definitely willing to give this a try.
Note: My last bone density test indicated a small increase in my bone density.
Results:
-Better Posture!!!
-Consistent body weight
-Ease of hiking
-Lifting multiple weights of grandchildren
-Fit of Clothing
I work out with a friend…. and enjoy the time!!!
An Aside:
I broke my upper arm 2 years after beginning Personal Training.
As soon as the doctor allowed me to go back to weight training… I was able to begin
again slowly….. my arm recovered much more quickly than it might have otherwise.
They say muscles have memory. (I had not exercised for 6 weeks!)
My Personal Trainer was very knowledgeable about what to do…. how much to push
and not to….. and stretches to help loosen the tightness in my arm.
At this Time:
I would miss it …. if it were not part of my routine!!

For Davis Martin:
Since I joined Foreside Fitness in January of 2010, I have lost 5 pounds (without dieting) and am more fit than I have been in years. The equipment is state of the art, always in good repair, and I love having my own TV on the treadmill. The personal training is fabulous. I have been working with Davis Martin for a year now. I was most impressed that he spent the time to find out what my fitness goals were. He remembers that I love tennis and telemark skiing and develops challenging and interesting training sessions to work on those muscle groups that will benefit my outside sports activities. Every session is different, entertaining, motivating, and I feel great afterward. I love my membership at Foreside Fitness.
